At 88 Creative Keys workshops, we teach teachers to improvise, use technology, lead off-bench activities, direct group teaching, and acquire updated business skills with today’s leading pedagogues. Unlike big music conferences, we offer lots of individual attention to a small group of participants.

In addition to hanging around with the often-vibrant TX music teachers, I'll be presenting two sessions.
Going Further with Lead Sheets - So you can already play the melody and chord symbols on lead sheets…now what? Learn creative techniques to personalize your interpretation. If you can do it, you can teach your students to do it!
Improve Your Groove - Deepen your students' sense of time, awareness of phrase lengths, and ability to play with others by learning easy piano and hand percussion patterns to accompany your students, teaching syncopation with "rhythm boxes," and replacing your metronome with the latest rhythm apps in this hands-on, interactive workshop.

Columbus Dance Theatre

“Our audiences love this concert,” says Veach.  “It is always a big hit.  I think people enjoy the ‘behind the scenes’ look into how a choreographer creates a dance.  There is also an element of danger and unpredictability.  Nobody really knows what is going to happen. That is the fun of it.  As ever, we are committed to live music as part of this presentation and are thrilled to have Bradley Sowash joining us at the piano for this one of kind performance experience.”

Individual Tickets: $30 Adults - $25 Seniors - $15 Students

My presentation: Developing Chord Fluency
Like language students who have memorized vocabulary but are not yet conversant, pianists who have learned to construct chords may not yet be “chord fluent.” How do we help our students move beyond music theory worksheets to being able to interpret chord symbols and identify underlying harmonies in literature? Learn drills, exercises, and creative prompts from a master improvisation teacher to help your students recognize and play chords effortlessly both on and off the bench.
