Tunes

  • Has Anybody Seen My Gal? (Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue) is an American song associated the 1920s that remains popular until this day. As one of those tunes that just sticks around, it was parodied by Allan Sherman’s Eight Foot Two, featured in comedy film by the same name, was the theme song for TV's The Ina Ray Hutton Show, and Lucille Ball performed it in two episodes of her TV series.

  • Take Five is the biggest-selling jazz single ever and one of the most requested modern jazz standards. Composed by alto saxophonist Paul Desmond for the Dave Brubeck Quartet, even casual jazz fans instantly recognize its distinctive two-chord piano riff, blues scale melody and unusual 5/4 meter.

Is this the right class for me?

  • If you’ve studied with Bradley before, you’ll enjoy adding these classics to your repertoire.

  • If you’re new to jazz piano, here’s your chance to acquire foundational improvisation skills in a unique and friendly learning community.

What ability level is expected?
Recommended for pianists of early-intermediate and above technical ability. Options from easier to more challenging are included in each assignment to accommodate a range of ability levels. No prior experience with improvising is required but a basic knowledge of triads and 7th chords is helpful.
