This medley of Bye Bye Lully Lullay and Patapan begins contemplatively with a dark jazz waltz that builds in intensity to a big ending. Reminiscent of movie scores by Lalo Schifrin and Henry Mancini. Various brass mutes, flutes and toms add a nice change of timbre and reference the lyrics “Willie, bring your little drum; Robin, bring your fife and come.” Includes solos over minor blues changes. Includes optional choir parts.
Instrumentation: 4 trpts., 4 trombones, 5 saxes with 2 flute doubles, rhythm section with SATB choir. Could also be performed as instrumental with minor adjustments. (6:38)
