  • Chord Stacker™ ()

    Teach chords better!

Students who are “chord fluent” learn literature quicker, improve memorization, and are more willing to improvise. Since manipulating objects is known to help students understand hard-to-grasp concepts, I wanted a way for them to construct chords by stacking physical items representing pitches. At first, I tried stacking cardboard boxes and adapting various games but they all had drawbacks. The solution was to make my own Chord Stacker™ boards and tiles.  Now your students can enjoy learning essential music theory concepts with their hands as mine do. Correlates to lessons in my Creative Chords piano method.

    Includes:
    • Wooden Rack - handmade from reclaimed lumber with four precision-cut channels ever so slightly larger than the tiles for easy sliding movement. Note that colors may vary. Size: 5.5 x 8.5 x 3/4 inches.
    • Tiles - 32 hand-stamped 1 inch square hardwood tiles per key including chord symbols and some 9 reversible note names to accommodate conventional minor key chords. Please specify key when ordering.
Download Chord Stackers teacher's guide - free, no purchase necessary.
