In The Moment Sheet Music In The Moment
Listen to audio samples: In the Moment - Some find it
through silence. I arrive there through intensity. I may be running hard, lost in a flurry
of piano notes, or halfway down a ski slope when, suddenly, I am intensely aware and feel,
somehow, more fully alive. In The Moment is inspired by times such as these and the events
that lead up to them. Far and Near - I wrote this
while my wife was overseas. Two different themes (husband, wife) gradually combine until
indistinguishable (reunion). Molly's Morning - My
daughter, Molly, is constantly energetic and upbeat. The song bubbles along with
relentless eighth notes in tribute to her enthusiasm. Steps To The Soul - Inspired
by a painting featuring a door in Shakertown at the top of a staircase that evidently led
to nowhere. The ever-arching upward melody is full of yearning and mystery. Noodle Soup - Late night in a
smoky bar -- the pianist wraps up his set with one last ballad not by request. This one is
for him. Cowboy Theory - I wrote this
with a nod to western movie themes but with my own jazzy approach involving lots of cross
rhythms and Latin influences. Glide Zone - This one was
inspired by my love of sailing. Glide Zone is a nautical term referring to a sweet spot
where the boat achieves maximum forward motion with minimum side slippage. Like most
anything worth doing, there is an elusive delicacy to finding it. To get at this fact of
life musically, I built in several "false starts" before it really gets going. Customer Comment |
