Will Trust In The Lord that your choir can learn in one rehearsal. It features a
rousing gospel style, contrasting men and womens sections, an optional descant and a
surprise key change. Your congregation will have a hard time resisting clapping along to
this joyful rendition. (Includes a separate piano part for easy page turning.) |

| This anthem begins with the piano and soloist
laying out a quiet slow gospel waltz. However, when the choir joins in with an
enthusiastic "Yes! Jesus Loves Me," the congregation knows this is not your
Grandmas version of the Sunday school classic. The work continues in a jazz waltz
feel until a sudden stop when the piano sets up a funky back beat feel and the music
really starts to kick. A key change near the end moves the energy up again for a really
big ending. It will take more than one rehearsal to put it together but its worth it
to see their smiles of appreciation. (Includes a separate piano part for easy page
turning.) |

| Based on a joyful ostinato singing style
associated with South Africa. Not too difficult even though it's a capella due to
repetition. The lyrics are based on the oldest part of the traditional liturgy. |

| Especially appropriate for
communion, it begins in a jazz ballad style with piano and soloist with the choir joining
on the second verse. Since breaking bread can be both meditative or a celebration, the
work progresses into an upbeat section in a Harlem Stride style before returning to its
opening respectful mood hopefully just as the last cup is served. (Includes a separate
piano part for easy page turning.) |

| Featuring a light Latin feel with catchy but
not overly complex rhythms. The piece frequently contrasts men and womens parts in a
pleasing give and take. They lyrics include fill-in-the-blank sections where the words can
be adjusted to reflect individual or church focuses for gratitude. For example, not just
"for the beauty of the earth" but perhaps "for new members, our missions or
whatever calls for an acknowledgment of blessings. (Includes a separate piano part for
easy page turning.) |
